Made from Hevea Rubberwood from managed plantations, which is regarded as ECO friendly since the rubber trees which were tapped for latex have come to the end of their useful life. In the past, they would be felled and burned or chopped up for firewood to make way for new trees, so we think it's pretty cool that they have been given a new lease of life in this way!

Rubberwood is strong, approximately the same hardness as walnut and teak, but a little softer than oak, so kind on your knives!
